The challenge.

For nearly 60 years, Warren County Community Services (WCCS) has served as the community's primary link for social services in Warren County. The organization has long enjoyed a strong reputation with those who have accessed its services. However, they believed that awareness of their services was relatively low in the overall community.

In addition, the WCCS leadership team recognized the need to bring their materials into brand alignment. With much of the WCCS staff working in the field, several marketing pieces were drifting from the overall brand look and feel. The team wanted a new look for their brochure system that would be both visually engaging and cohesive. The catch was that, as a nonprofit, they needed an economical solution for making updates to the brochures.

The strategy.

Our team began partnering with WCCS in 2023, starting with research to assess overall familiarity with the organization and how residents perceive WCCS and the services it offers.

From there, we focused first on establishing the foundation for all future messaging. We built a comprehensive key messaging document that defines the organization's voice, audiences, brand promise, elevator speech, and messaging pillars. Along with the messaging, we provided recommendations and training on how to effectively use the messaging in both marketing materials and day-to-day interactions. At the same time, we engaged in a rebranding initiative to update the organization's logo and overall branding. Our work included a comprehensive brand guidelines document to ensure the brand is presented consistently by WCCS employees right down to their email signatures.

With the foundational pieces in place, we assisted WCCS with a website redesign, social media strategy, and the brochure refresh. The brochures were designed in Canva to provide the WCCS marketing team with a cost-effective means to make updates themselves. Several internal workshops hosted by TMC helped accelerate adoption of the new marketing strategy.

WCCS has a cohesive brand and defined guidance for how it communicates with clients and the community. A refreshed website, brochures, and other marketing materials clearly communicate how WCCS serves its community and make it easy to find the information residents need. The client noted website inquiries have exceeded previous benchmarks, and the leadership team has received positive comments from the community at large.
