A new year has just begun, which means you’re probably thinking about where you want your business to go in the months ahead. Whatever your goals, it’s the perfect time to reinvigorate your marketing efforts.
Here at the Marketing Collective, we’ve put together a few of our favorite digital marketing resolutions for 2024 to help you get started.
Resolution #1: Expand your content marketing
Effective content marketing puts your customer’s needs first – so it is at the very core of building your relationship with your customer. Today’s content marketing means far more than adding a blog to your website; it encompasses reaching out to your customer where they are, in the form they want. Be sure the content is valuable to your customer. And think infographics, video, podcasts, e-books, webinars, and more… if it is media, it is content, and content is still king.
Resolution #2: Integrate and connect your marketing channels
All of your marketing efforts lead back to your business and/or your website… so it makes sense to connect your marketing methods and cross-promote within your channels. This connection has the added benefit of maximizing your resources efficiently and strengthening your presence holistically – with search engine marketing, social media, email, content, advertising, and more all working together towards your business goals.
Resolution #3: Build your presence on social media
Social media is an integral part of any digital marketing strategy, as it’s one of the most versatile and cost-effective platforms to reach your target audience. Social media provides new opportunities to expand your audience, share your content, and present your brand’s personality. Consumers are often more receptive to a brand’s messaging on social media, and the more conversational nature of these platforms makes your brand feel more accessible and allows you to build authentic connections.
Resolution #4: Always test and learn
Testing is key to marketing success. It gives you an effective tool for measuring the impact of your campaigns and identifying the best online marketing strategies for your business. And it’s basically universal. You can test onboarding emails, search ads, landing pages, calls to action, or essentially any other element of a marketing campaign you can think of.
Resolution #5: Trust in the work you pay for
Whether your marketing team is in-house or an outside agency, you need to be able to trust the experts you hire to do a good job for you. This can be one of the hardest but also one of the most important digital marketing resolutions, but it’s important to let your digital marketers do what they’re good at. A great digital marketing team is passionate about helping their clients reach and exceed their business goals.
